When I walked up to their house and saw a jar of dog treats set out for any neighbor walking their dog, I just knew it was gonna be special. And it really was.
We planned for an in home engagement session with a jaunt to their favorite neighborhood coffee shop and brewery on South Pearl Street. But it really became a side quest appreciation session for their dog and I was so about it.
Odie, named after Odell Brewery in Fort Collins ( the town where they became college sweethearts ), was adopted by Nora and Connor and instantly treasured. They affectionately refer to him as "their street dog from Texas who prefers to wear hoodies warm and fresh out of the dryer." Nora even has a tattoo of her beloved Odie on her arm, and that kind of just made me gush over this cute little family as they start the next chapter of their life together. I quite honestly think they are so cool - put me in the fan club.
Cuddled up on the couch, Nora gave Odie a kiss on the cheek - accidentally leaving a pink lipstick kiss on his white fur. Nora immediately tried to wipe it off - but I said no it's actually perfect!
And thus begun a session that turned into a warm summer memory for all.
Kind words from Nora + Connor :
"Our engagement session with Jaclyn felt like hanging out with an old friend. We were both a bit nervous for this as we tend to freeze up on camera, but from the second she arrived everything was so calm, whimsical and fun!! Jaclyn knows exactly how to naturally create those candid, in-between moments that ended up being my favorite photos.
I fully cried when the full gallery was delivered. The way our love is shown in her photos feels so representative of how it is: carefree, easy and giggly. She somehow instinctively knew all of our best angles and sent an entire gallery full of “the best photo I’ve ever seen of myself.” I’m so grateful she’ll be the one with us on our wedding day, I already know I’ll feel calmer just having her around!
